Exquisite Suffering

This piece represents a hurting woman ready to heal. Sometimes great growth and strength can come from suffering. Warm colors are used to show that through pain there can be light and comfort when persevering. The hummingbirds represent joy and the petunias growth and change. I wanted to show a triumphant emotion with this piece. Each drip of paint and stroke was carefully placed, but I wanted a freeing form for the overall look. This piece focuses less on technicality and perfection and more on feeling, emotion, and aesthetics.
