In 'Oscar and Sharon's Big Day Out', I allow simple brushstrokes and negative space painting to form the gesture of the characters. 'Dot', the woman in the yellow dress appears in several pieces in my museum series. She represents my grandmothers who were both positive influences on me as a budding artist so many years ago. This series started as an homage to them and to John Singer Sargent.
