Lost Lake

A view very familiar to my family and our little towns; painting this fall scene was a joy, as I got to experience the nuances of the entire landscape of Northern Ontario. Our autumn colours are not as red and bright as the south, but picking through each tree still brought surprises to the eye. The gesso was applied with a roller to create a stippled effect which supplemented the leafy appearance. My main technique was to simply use a tiny paintbrush!
