This is a pastel painting of a homeless woman on the streets of Portland, Maine. She is probably a veteran because of her camouflage gear. I was attracted to her dignity despite her difficult situation. I was inspired by her as the subject matter. It was a challenge painting the cool overcast light falling on her, the building and the street.
