Standing in front of this believed-to-be-1-billion year old rock (called The Painted Wall) that stands the height of two Empire State Buildings from the canyon floor, I found myself in awe. In awe of the majesty, the scale, and how both it and I could share a matter of hours together, hours I'll surely never forget and hours that won't even register in its history. This piece was drawn at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado. It is a 12x9" pastel on black Canson paper.
