Bride
“To provide viewers freedom to find emotional meaning in the intangible by evoking the unconscious use of their imaginations." — Gayle Printz

I am an American painter with work on permanent exhibit in France at Musée de Saint-Frajou. This year, 140 of my paintings shared over 250I won in Juried International Art Competitions. My artworks have been the focus of countless worldwide exhibitions and publications. ”Bride” Is one such painting. Having won the Talent Prize Award in Art Show International’s Juried “Open” Competition for May 2021, “Bride” was on Exhibit May 15 through June 14, 2021.
Using color, flow, three-dimensionality, and texture to express myself, I try to create paintings that transcend the familiar. There is great meaning in my artwork, but I will neither define that meaning nor intrude upon the viewer’s personal interpretation. Because I believe the importance of a painting is based upon the emotion it evokes, I want to provide viewers uninterrupted freedom to feel—to experience the World in unanticipated ways. My work is famous for inviting the viewer in to assign personal meaning and universal context by listening to the whispers of their imagination. At times, my paintings may seem to have a magical quality; they change depending upon the angle at which you gaze. As with life, the meaning in my work, depends upon the way you look at it.
Although i have been told it seems impossible, I picked up my first paintbrush in May of 2020. Creating these works during the pandemic helped me bring lightness and beauty back into a world that was interrupted. Now, by encouraging viewers to use their imaginations as the lens through which to find meaning in my work, I hope to share that beauty with any viewer open to embarking upon this subconscious journey.
