Best Friends

Soft Pastel on suede matboard. This was a commission piece of two Retrievers who were "Best Friends" that were recued by a loving family.
Several photos were sent of each dog. Using these images, I created a layout/design by setting up the images in Photoshop and trying out several compositions before drawing the images on the board. I know I should start by blocking in color but I can't resist starting with the eyes, letting those loving souls gaze out as I progress with the painting.
